AUSTRIAN COMPANIES WIN ‘GOLDS’ FOR DOCUMENTARIES

LOS ANGELES, CALIF., USA – Two Austrian companies, ORF – NHU and Interspot Film GmhH, both in Vienna, have won Gold Camera awards in The U.S. International Film And Video Festival 2004 competition.

ORF – NHU took Golds in Documentary for “First Flight” and in Nature, Wildlife for “Land of the Falling Lakes.” Interspot won a Gold in Documentary for “The Tale of the Hare and the Sun.”

Entries from 17 countries won 65 Gold awards and 82 Silver awards in the 2004 competition. This year’s Festival received more than 1,500 entries from 27 countries. The competition is in its 37th year.

Winners will be recognized June 12 at ceremonies in Hollywood, Calif. Members of the International Quorum of Motion Picture Producers (IQ) will select the winner.

Productions created or released up until the March 1, 2004, deadline were eligible. A full listing of 2004 winners is available at www.filmfestawards.com
