SWISS ARMED FORCES, MCCANN-ERICKSON WIN FILM AWARDS

LOS ANGELES CA., USA - McCann-Erickson Switzerland, Zurich, has won a Gold Camera award in the 2003 U.S. International Film And Video Festival. The Swiss Armed Forces Film Department, Berne, won a Silver Screen.

The winning entries were among more than 1,500 entries from 28 countries. A total of 64 Gold Camera Awards and 92 Silver Screen Awards were given in 52 categories or sub-categories.

The awards were presented June 6 during ceremonies in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

McCann-Erickson's production, "XL Capital: Business TV" done for XL Capital, won in Advertising-General Audience. Gap Films Commercial Production, Munich was the production company.

The Armed Forces win was in Politics, Government category for its recruitment film, "Virtual Reality."

The competition is in its 36th year and is recognized as one of the world's leading events for Business, Television, Documentary, Industrial, and Informational and Entertainment productions.

Lee W. Gluckman Jr. is chairman of the U.S. International Film And Video Festival. He also is chairman of the Mobius Advertising Awards Competition held each February.
