OSTERREICHISCHES, ORF-NHU WIN GOLD AWARDS AT FESTIVAL LOS ANGELES CA., USA - A film extolling the joys of skiing Austria and another on Schonbrunn, Vienna's imperial palace, won Gold Camera awards in the 2003 U.S. International Film And Video Festival. The winning entries from Osterreichisches Filmservice and ORF-NHU, both of Vienna, were among more than 1,500 entries from 28 countries. A total of 64 Gold Camera Awards and 92 Silver Screen Awards were given in 52 categories or sub-categories. The awards were presented June 6 during ceremonies in Manhattan Beach, Calif. The travel film was "Snowdance - Discover the Joy of Austria," received a Gold award in the Travel-Transportation category. The ORF-NHU entry, "Schonbrunn-Well of Beauty" won in History, Biography. The film used cameras on cable cars, hydraulic telescope poles and floating balloons to show the Magic Gardens of Vienna from new perspectives. The competition is in its 36th year and is recognized as one of the world's leading events for Business, Television, Documentary, Industrial, and Informational and Entertainment productions. Lee W. Gluckman Jr. is chairman of the U.S. International Film And Video Festival. He also is chairman of the Mobius Advertising Awards Competition held each February.
