2005 One World
DOCUMENTARY ON GORBACHEV WINS FOR CANADIAN DIRECTOR
Director Fern Levitt and and Barna-Alper Productions, Toronto, Canada, received the 2005 'One World' award for Levitt’s documentary, “Gorbachev’s Revolution.” The film explores Mikhail Gorbachev’s role in ending the cold war.
In the film, Gorbachev discusses his role in the events leading to one of the most seminal events of the 20th century.
The award was presented by Jim Tusty of International Quorum of Motion Picture Producers (IQ) during the annual awards ceremonies in June in Los Angeles. The One World Award is given to a production that demonstrates international cooperation and understanding at work.
Levitt’s work also received a Second Place Silver Screen Award in History, Biography.
